Spoons Spoons workshops

Jo has a particular passion for spoon playing and is keen to pass it on to others!

Jo's Spoons Workshops are great fun, and are suitable for:
Teachers’ conferences/CPDs
Festivals, parties
Team building events
Care homes
Brownie/Guide/Scout groups
Special needs groups

Jo provides an assortment of metal, wooden, plastic and joined-up spoons (for younger participants) and she teaches a variety of techniques and rhythms, often incorporating songs and body percussion too. Spoons Workshops are accessible for all ages and abilities, and help to develop many skills including rhythm, co-ordination, fine motor skills, creativity, copying, listening, performance and teamwork. Workshops can be tailored to suit your event so do get in touch to chat about different options.

Jo often works with another musician who provides a fantastic accompaniment for the spoon playing.

*New for 2018* Jo is collaborating with May Halyburton aka Bessy Bass and developing kitchen-inspired rhythmic workshops using spoons, washboards, pans and other kitchen equipment. See Schools page.

An insight into spoons workshops for primary school teachers.

Jo leads her workshops with infectious energy and fun, leaving children and adults of all ages, engaged, excited and eager for more! She made a group of fifty spoon players sound fantastic at the May in a Day! family festival at Cecil Sharp House.
